Next Door Dinners is a community dinner project with a pay-what-you-can model! We serve a three course dinner that sells out around 50 people. The dinners source from Chicago urban farmers, retailers, and makers and pops up at venues all around the city. All profits go to various organizations supporting Chicago residents.

Date and Time: Oct 11, Doors at 6pm, Dinner at 6:30pm

The price for a ticket to “break-even” for dinner and venue costs is about $15 a person. All profits beyond that point are donated.

Last month, some gave $5 and some gave $75. When buying your ticket, please consider your socioeconomic status, inherent wealth, and access to fresh food, and give whatever you are comfortable with. 

This month we will be donating profits to Star Farm Chicago! Star Farm Chicago is a non-profit urban farm and landscaping service established in 2016 in the Back of the Yards neighborhood. 

They work to increase access of local organic produce through farmers markets, pop-ups, delivery, and our local foods co-op.  Star Fam is building a resilient food hub in Back of the Yards through empowering local women, youth, and people with disabilities because they are committed to nurture all generations of growers and food sovereignty leaders.

Smoked eggplant hummus, pickled squash, mild + hot pepper jelly, local butter 

Main: 

Ginger Sweet Potato Coconut Milk Stew
with Lentils & Kale

Dessert:

Spooky rice crispy treats
Boo!
